Yeraldi Barraza can definitely beam in pride for this achievement. Although the pageant is not major, but an achievement is an achievement. The last major win of Mexico in international pageantry was in year 2010 when Ximena Navarrete won Miss Universe 2010. This year, Mexico has been a “much in news” name. Donald Trump made derogatory remarks about Mexican immigrants leading to strong dissapproval from many sides. Mexico’s organization withdrew from the pageant. At one point, former Miss Universe owner declared that Mexico will never be part of Miss Universe. However, all is well now because Trump does not own Miss Universe.
