Alice Sabatini succeeded Clarissa Marchese as the winner of Miss Italia title.  Miss Italia pageant is similar to few other national pageants which are very popular in their countries of origin but do not send the winner to any international pageant.  It is the Italian counter-part to Miss America, or the counter-part to Miss Great Britain of the United Kingdom.  Generally such pageants survive because of their legacy and strong history.  They help the winners by bringing them in strong lime-light.
