Maria Alejandra Lopez crowned as Miss Mundo Colombia 2015

Maria Alejandra Lopez was crowned as Miss Mundo Colombia 2015 (Miss World Colombia 2015) at the conclusion of the national event held on 5th September 2015. Maria Lopez shall now represent Colombia in Miss World 2015, to be held in China later in December 2015. She had to battle out 20 stunning contestants to win the title of Miss Mundo Colombia 2015. Maria was crowned by the outgoing queen, Jessica Leandra Garcia Caicedo, Miss Mundo Colombia 2014 at the end of the event.

Maria Alejandra Lopez is studying engineering in Industrial Engineering Field. She is currently in 5th Semester. She is 21 years old and stands 178 cm tall.  Maria is fond of make up and exercises. She never misses her routine of exercise. At the same event, Vivian Tatiana Martinez was crowned as first runner-up, Maria Alejandra Chacon was crowned as 2nd runner-up.

Miss Mundo Colombia took over the franchise of Miss World for Colombia in 1992. Since then, Colombia has placed only 6 times in the finale of Miss World. The highest placements of Colombia in Miss World was 1996 and 2002 when  Carolina Arango Corrales and Natalia Peralta Castro were crowned as 1st runner-up and were awarded the title of Continental Queens for America. In 2009, Daniela Ramos Lalinde placed in Top 7 and also managed to win the title of Miss World Golf. Colombia has never been successful in winning the crown of Miss World.
