Sacha Livingstone (Miss Antrim) has won the title of Miss Ireland 2015 by defeating 31 stunning beauties in a glittering ceremony yesterday.  She will represent the country at Miss World 2015 in Sanya, China in December this year.  She is 20 and impressed the judges in the final round when she confessed that looks are not everything for her.  Sacha is an English literature student.  She is also an incredible artist.

Sacha Livingstone looked stunning in her royal blue floor length gown.  She was overwhelmed when she was announced as the winner.  She admitted being “so so shocked” to be named as the winner.  Sacha belongs to Hills borough in Antrim.  Her mother Pauline was present in the finals and beamed with a lot of pride at her daughter’s success.

Sacha Livingstone is representing a country with rich history in Miss World.  Here are some highlights:

  • Emma Waldon was the last Miss Ireland to place in Miss World.  She finished Top 5 in Miss World 2010, won by Miss United States Alexandria Mills.
  • Miss Ireland 2003 Rosanna Davison won the title of Miss World 2003 in China.
  • Miss Ireland 1990 Siobhan McClafferty was 1st runner-up in Miss World 1990, won by Miss United States Gina Tolleson.
  • Miss Ireland 1965 Gladys Anne Waller was 2nd runner-up in Miss World 1965, won by Lesley Langley of the United Kingdom.

Miss Ireland pageant was formed in 1947 and based in Dublin.  Since 2003, they have dropped the franchise of Miss Universe.

Miss Ireland 2015 Sacha Livingstone will have a tough road ahead because the Miss World 2015 is one of the most competitive batches in the recent years.  Miss Brazil Catherine Choi is currently considered the front-runner for the Miss World 2015 title.  Miss Canada Anastasia Lin is one of the most discussed Miss World 2015 contestants at the moment.  Miss France Hinarere Taputu will give a tough fight to Sacha from Europe.  Miss India Aditi Arya, Miss South Africa Liesl Laurie, Miss Trinidad & Tobago Kimberly Singh & Miss United States Victoria Mendoza are other favorites at the moment.
