Review of India’s Next Top Model Episode 4
We finally got to see the contestants into action now in India’s Next Top Model Episode 4. Yes, the girls were put to walk and not just once, but twice. Episode 4 brought stunning Alicia Raut, who is a well known Catwalk trainer, to the show. Many of you might not be knowing that Alicia is the official catwalk trainer of Femina Miss India where she trains all the contestants and winners on grooming up their walk for pageants. Again, we got to see two different challenges this week, both related to Catwalk. However, the first catwalk was done in Fish Market of Mumbai and other was done on Runway with 2 pendulum swinging across the runway while girls walk through. Just like the Review of Episode 3, I review both the challenges separately with my personal rankings and conclusion in the end.
Review of Catwalk at Fish Market
#1-Aditi Shetty
For the first time, Aditi was not upto my expecations. She was OK type on the ramp at Fish Market. However, I wasn’t convinced much with her walk or the overall look here.
#2-Anam Shaikh
Anam looked one of the fiercest dolls on the ramp. That colour, that combination and that walk, it just blew me right away. She was also the first one to enter the ramp, so I can imagine the pressure on her. But she handled it well. Neeraj Gaba criticised her for the sudden turn she took at the end of the ramp, but personally I loved it because that made her look hot.
#3-Danielle Canute
Danielle was another girl who disappointed me a lot. She never let her age affect her performance till now. But, at this challenge she was below my expectations. I agree with Neeraj’s comment that she had dead expressions. That LIFE was not there in her walk.
#4- Gloria Tep
Gloria actually had one of the perfect most looks in the batch along with Anam and Rushali. But she couldn’t bring her A game on in this round. She had too much of jumping action in her walk. It made her look bit conscious and she over did her walk. I wish she picks the walk soon for next time or she may have to bid an adieu to the show.
#5-Malvika Sitlani
I was very much convinced with the walk of Malvika but wasn’t happy with her overall look. That styling in fact spoilt her look than enhancing it and god save me from those hair. Anyway, judging by the walk on ramp, I feel she did it quite well. Only a bit of polishing was required.
#6-Monica Gill
Monica was the most disappointing for me in this round. She was completely lost and made me feel as if she is not at all interested in the competition any more. With this dull dead attitude, I can see her losing the game very soon.
#7-Rushali Rai
I was very much impressed with Rushali’s styling and look, that BEAUTY..!!! You may also appreciate the fact that Rushali previously was trained by Alicia Raut in Femina Miss India 2015. So this was a kind of refresher for her. She was another girl who impressed me the most apart from Anam. However, Rushali is still not perfect in my opinion.
#7-Sreeradhe Khanduja
I am not 100% sure but I guess even Sreeradhe was trained by Alicia during Miss Diva 2014. Sreeradhe looked beautiful in that pink shade and her walk was nice. She might not have delivered well in still but in motion she was good. Personally, I liked her in this round.

Review of Pendulum Runway Challenge
#1-Aditi Shetty
Aditi changed her beautiful heavy head gear to the plain plate because she was very uncomfortable with that. I feel this ruined her overall look, had she gone with the original head gear,she could have ranked a bit better in judges’ list. But I liked the fat that she didn’t hit the pendulum while walking. She was better than the previous catwalk challenge.
#AnamShaikh
Anam’s overall look reminded me of Maleficent. Her head gear was the most beautiful head gear out there in the bunch. She looked extremely hot in the costume. Only if she had not hit the pendulum during her walk, she could have won the challenge.
#3-Danielle Canute
Contrary to her performance at previous catwalk challenge, Danielle just nailed it her. Her height itself was enough to kill the competition this time. She was calm, composed and most importantly FOCUSED. I also loved her head gear that totally accentuated her look.
#4- Gloria Tep
After disappointing me in the first round, Gloria cam strong in this round. I loved her fierce moves, although again she was bit bouncy. However, this time she was more focused and spontaneous. I also liked how she made that fierce look while turning towards judges.
#5-Malvika Sitlani
Malvika was impressive in this round. She walked well and maintained her calm and composure. I loved her head gear, her overall look was similar to high fashioned model in retro times.
#6-Monica Gill
I understand that Sreeradhe was too bitchy about her but was she so ‘Cry-baby’ that she could not even take up the criticism and let her performance affect? I somehow felt that she was just trying to pass on the buck of her disappointing performance by blaming Sreeradhe. She was completely lost here and I don’t know how she didn’t get eliminated in this round.
#7-Rushali Rai
Rushali disappointed me this time. She was supposed to be nailing this round but she failed to do so. She seemed to have lost focus in the synchronisation of her own speed and the ticking of pendulum. I felt her performance of Catwalk at fish market was much better than here. But, with the mentioned arguments, I still feel she is the one to beat in the competition.
#SreeRadhe Khanduja
Sreeradhe impressed me the most when she did a diva turn where she was about to get hit by the pendulum. I mean like seriously? I have only seen Sushmita Sen showing such a graceful stage presence on the ramp till date. When most of the girls would stop for pendulum to go away and then walk, Sree defined her quotient by taking a sassy turn which even made Lisa Hayden go gaga over her. She is another girl that reminds me of Maleficent. However, due to short height, she couldn’t stand out. I also agree to judges that she did a wrong move by putting her hands in her pocket which mad her even heavier at bottom.
My Personal Rankings (in order of ranking): Danielle Canute, Anam Shaikh, Malvika Sitlani, Gloria Tep, Rushali Rai, Sreeradhe Khanduja, Aditi Shetty, Monica Gill.
Views over Elimination: Although I predicted in my last week’s review that Sreeradhe may be eliminated next week, I wasn’t happy with her elimination for particularly this episode. She gave much more than Monica and I feel if the elimination was based juts on the ramp challenge, it should have been Monica who should have gone home. Having said that, I feel with over all impression, Sreeradhe was bound to go home. Because she doesn’t fit the bill of model, but more of a beauty queen. If not this week, she would have gone soon in coming week.
Prediction for Elimination in Next Week: I feel it’s the time that either Aditi or Malvika say good bye to the show. Monica is following the line closely with that dead attitude. However, now that Sreeradhe has gone, I am sure Monica will have no reason to blame and will be able to concentrate on the show. Let’s see how things unfold.
