Gionni Straccia: The Crown maker for Venezuela
Gionni Straccia: The Crown maker for Venezuela

When we talk about the Venezuelan glory in international pageants, we often end up with Osmel Sousa and his hardcore training of girls. But there are some other factor which contributes to the success of Venezuelan Beauties. One major factor is the amazing set of Evening gowns that they are provided with. Needless to say, when it comes to discussion as to which country is providing the best gowns for their representatives, unanimous choice would be Venezuela. There is a special man behind this who must be applauded for his amazing creativity. He is none other than Gionni Straccia. Over the years ,he has become the most sought after Venezuelan fashion designer in national & international pageant arena.

Miss Venezuela Organization & Gionni Straccia is a formidable combination as we look up on success of recent Venezuelan Beauties. The yellow flowy evening gown worn by Dayana Mendoza was perfection in every aspect and she worked it like no one else. That really was a major foot towards her Miss Universe Crown.

The yellow gown of Dayana was followed by the royal and absolutely beautiful red gown of Stefania Fernandez. She was looking like a princess in that gown and went on to achieve a back to back for Venezuela.

Hoping for a Three peat in 2010, Marelisa Gibson was also trained hard and given the best outfits for the pageant. She was given the blue gown to complete the tri color of Venezuela’s Flag ( yellow, red & blue ). Sadly she ended up clapping in the background for the 15 girls who placed in final.
Next year, Vanessa Gonclaves was given a breath taking long sleeve gown with beautiful work on it. Sadly she couldn’t make to top 10, otherwise she would have been in top 5 with that stunning gown. It was followed by Irene esser’s simple, elegant gown with intricate detailing which made her look so wow and she also worked it like no one else. She would have won only if she had given a better answer.

Following year, Gabriela Isler wore a heavy gown with a lot of crystal accomplishment which was heavily criticized for its weight. So Miss Venezuela Organisation changed that gown by Straccia to the long-sleeved gown she wore in finale by Alejandra Fajerdo. It was the first time in many years that a Venezuelan queen didn’t wear a Straccia gown in the finale.

Last year, Migbelis Castellanos was also spotted wearing a gown that made her look so heavy in preliminary. But MVO Changed it to a beautiful red gown in the finale. She was magical on stage ( Both her preliminary and Finale gowns were by Gioni Straccia himself). The only complaint I had was the gown length was not sufficient and she was a bit on heavier side, which made her exclusion from Top 5 in Miss Universe 2014.
Now Straccia is a most sought after designer not just in Miss Venezuela, nut in Miss USA as well as many other national pageants of Latin America.
