From playing Disney Princess at Hongkong Disney Land to being real life Princess, Nia Sanchez’s story is truly inspiring. She became the first Miss Nevada & fourth Hispanic to win the crown of Miss USA crown. Her win triggered a controversy whether or not she was living in Nevada before joining the state pageant & if she fulfilled the required criteria. Clearing all the doubts this Latina beauty had so many Ups after that minor down. There are so many things good things that she did & happened to her during her reign both professionally & personally that we decided to list best moments of Miss USA 2014 Nia Sanchez.
Appearing on The Late Night Show with David Letterman.
She might be the first Miss USA winner to appear on the The David Letterman late night show. Here she was a part of the famous Top 10 section where she hilariously told the top 10 mistakes to be avoided during the Miss USA pageant. From pronouncing USA as OOSSA to eating ribs on stage & she didn’t even leave Donald Trump & Valdimir Putin out of it.
Being Part of Cancer Awareness Programmes.
Usually the Miss Universe/Miss USA Organization associated itself with many charities, but the main focus has always been on supporting charities that create awareness on HIV & AIDS. Nia Sahncez again might be the first Miss USA winner to wear three different sashes to promote to promote Breast Cancer & Ovarian Cancer; two silent killer disease that kill millions of women across the world. Not only did she wear colourful sashes, she flew down to Washington DC and meet many senators & Congressmen on Capitol Hill asking them to work towards ending such deadly diseases. She wore Pink, teal sashes to promote cancer awareness. She also wore a Green Sash to celebrate St.Patrick’s Day.
GETTING ENGAGED
It is a rare thing in the pageant world got to see a reigning queen getting engaged when the organizations tell the girls to not to be in a committed relationshi. But this didn’t stop actor Daniel Booko to propose her girlfriend who was also the reigning Miss USA. He proposed to her on a rooftop of New York hotel with a custom made ring called the Nia Ring. We wish the couple a blessed & joyful life ahead.
The TaeKwonDo Queen!
Nia is a fourth degree black belt in taekwondo. She has been learning it since the age of 8 after winning the Miss USA pageant. She became the first beauty Queen to be featured in TaeKwonDo Times & she promoted TaeKwonDo at an event in Times Square New York & encouraged young girls to learn it for self defense.
Operation That’s MY Dress
Nia alongside Miss Teen USA 2014 K. Lee Graham & Miss USA & Miss Teen USA 2015 contestants helped in raising money to buy Prom dresses for the girl serving in the armed forces.
Travelling to Prague,Czech Republic.
Nia alongside Miss Universe 2013 Maria Gabriela Isler of Venezuela visited the Diamond International Corporation, head quartered in Prague, where the new Miss Universe & Miss USA crowns were being designed. Both of them were the first to see & try the new crowns.
1st Runner Up at Miss Universe
Nia became the ninth American to win the first runner up crown at Miss Universe Pageant. She came second to Miss Colombia Paulina Vega. Nia was one of the favorites to win the crown, but she missed it by a whisker.
Spending a Day With Marines.
Nia’s family has a long history of her family members serving in the armed forces. She got a chance to spend an entire day on a warship with the marines where she learned many aspects of their duties.
