This year’s Miss International batch was underestimated by most of the pageant followers (including us). We got plenty of surprises – most of them were good but some really broke our hearts. Tomorrow by this time we will have our first big winner for 2014. This year there is a slight change in the format – there will be no top 15 but top 10; the top 5 will stay back in Tokyo until 19th November. Before we get down to the Hotpicks, we would like to wish Bea Rose Santiago, the reigning Miss International 2013, all the best for her future endeavours; she will be missed by many of us.
Miss International 2014 :- Netherlands: Shauny Built – She was an underdog flying under everyone’s radar before the contestants arrived in Tokyo. It’s safe to say that her previous experience at Miss Earth has helped her a lot & she has been able to stand out in the crowd filled with beautiful women. Her beauty is very Miss International; we are expecting the crown to rise on her head!
First Runner Up:- India: Jhataleka Malhotra – She has proved her naysayers wrong with perfect styling and 32 volts smile. Jhataleka is India’s best bet after 2003. Standing next to really tall girls, Jhataleka hasn’t let her height be an issue & she has easily outshone other girls in this contest. Will she give India it’s first red crown?
Second Runner Up:- Thailand: Punika Kulsoontornrut – One of the most successful Thai girls in pageants, she is the epitome of Thai beauty. We won’t be surprised if she walks away with the crown, but it will be an uphill task for her as she was recently dethroned as Miss Earth Water 2013. It might leave a negative impact on the jury & the organization.
Third Runner Up:- Mexico: Vianey Vázquez – She is representing one of the most successful countries at Miss International; she has a strong commercial model look which will work really well in Japan. Her biggest drawback is her communication skills which had cost her the Miss Mexico crown. Can she over come her biggest hurdle when she enters the Top 5?
Fourth Runner Up:- France: Aurianne Sinacola – She might have faded away in the contest, but one can’t deny that she is one of the strongest girl in the competition; her towering height & amazing trouso will definitely work for her. She is the first French representative to be send at Miss International by Miss France organization; this might just increase her chances of placing really high.
6th: Guyana: Ruqayyah Boyer – She has been a lucky charm to Filipino girls but she failed to bring any good luck to herself as she failed to place at Miss Universe 2012 & Miss World 2013. Ruqayyah underwent training in the Philippines & her hard work has finally paid off as she is often refereed to as the best black girl in the contest. She is being considered as a heavy favourite to win the crown.
7th: Argentina: Josefina José Herrero – She is truly Miss International prototypes – her soft porcelain doll-like features & amazing body have been the talk of the town (in this case city 🙂 ) since she has arrived in Tokyo.
8th: Peru: Fiorella Peirano – She reminds us of a sexier & taller version of Alexandria Mills (Miss World 2010). She has been a pleasant surprise; she is the real under dog of this pageant. She has the potential to take it all!
9th: Philiipines: Bianca Guidotti – The girl who is defending the crown for her pageant-crazy country. So far we don’t see a possibility of a back-to-back scenario but she is wearing one of the strongest sashes in the pageant world!
10th USA: Samantha Brooks – She has played her cards really well so far. She has an alluring aura about herself which is very Miss USA (the girl who goes to MU). We hope that she joins some state pageants & tries out for Miss USA & then hopefully Miss Universe some day!
Indonesia,United Kingdom, Gabon, Colombia, Brazil & Venezuela
May the best girl win!
