Miss USA 2015 Evening Gown Competition [Review]

Despite the Donald Trump Vs the Latino community controversy, the Miss USA 2015 pageant didn’t fail to deliver & in fact this took the pageant to another level last night. Definitely Miss USA 2015 will go down in history as one of the memorable editions ever. There were many ‘First’ last night – Olivia Jordan became the first Miss Oklahoma to win the Miss USA crown, the legendary “Delaware curse” was broken by Renee Bull by placing in the top 10; for the first time, Miss Congeniality had two recipients: Miss Delaware & Miss Alasaka. Miss Kentucky was saved by the online audience & became the 11th Contestant to compete in the evening gown competition. This Year’s evening gown competition was amazing as it had all the elements.  Miss Texas & Kentucky brought the famous Hollywood red carpet glamour, whereas Miss Nevada & Rhode Islands were giving “Miss Venezuela” contestants some serious competition in their stunning gowns.  Here is a detailed review of all the 11 stunning evening gowns from last night’s Miss USA.

Giving us a serious Barbie/Princess moment was Miss Oklahoma Olivia Jordan, the eventual winner of the night in her custom made Fuschia Sherri Hill gown. This “larger than life” creation will go down as one of the most memorable evening gowns in pageantry.

‘Vision in White’ that’s the best way to describe Ylianna Guerra, Miss Texas USA 2015 who went on to win the First Runner Up position, wearing a white column-gown with a jeweled neckline, key-hole detailing & a stunning back, which was filled with multiple crystal chains.  We prefer her styling during the prelims more – she looked like she was dressed to get an Emmy award.

One of the most well prepared delegate who was considered as the front-runner lost her momentum & hair-brush at the last moment, Anea was wearing a white column-gown designed by Valentina Cedeño which featured sheer crystal panels from the neck up to the bottom. Not only this gown was worn earlier by a Miss Venezuela contestant but also the earrings she was wearing were similar to those Maria Gabriela Isler wore during Miss Universe 2013 finale.  Her hair was a big mess – it was just the wrong day to have a bad hair day.

This Joey Galon gown, which features around 200 hand applied Swarovski crystals is one of our favourite gowns & will surely go down in our Top 10 gowns for 2015. We loved how she detached her train from the gown & then she almost slipped, but luckily she didn’t fall down.

Mame Adjei was the star of the night at Miss USA 2015 Evening Gown Competition. She looked like a Warrior princess in her Rocky Gathercole black tullegown which featured applique detailing.  They were placed strategically to cover some parts.

She entered the top 11 with the help of Online voting. We totally loved her when she said “Hell yeah!”, when her name was announced as the winner for online polls. This blonde bombshell was an absolute delight on stage. We loved her midnight blue high slit gown because she looked so glamorous.

The biggest news of the night for any pageant follower was that the Delaware curse was broken. It took Delaware 64 years to place at Miss USA & the placement came via Reene Bull, whose performance during the prelims was ignored by many (including us) due to her sash. Bringing joy to the competition, Miss Bull wore a canary yellow gown with side train. She worked this simple gown really well with her grace & amazing catwalk skills.

We are on fence with the Miss Hawaii’s look she looked phenomenal in her white Sherri Hill through gown, but her styling was bit prom queen/ bridesmaid.

She struggled walking down the stairs during the prelims wearing this teal mermaid gown, but during the finale, she managed to pull off a decent performance. This gown looked more editorial & she should have avoided wearing it during the finale.

This white strapless number with gold & silver applique didn’t do any good to the hometown girl; the whole look fell flat. She should have opted for some colours as this look was quite boring frankly.

This gown was one of the worst gown in our list during the evening gown portraits & it is our least favourite look of the night; we wish she had worn the same green ball gown that she had worn during the prelims.

Best and Worst at Miss USA 2015 Evening Gown Competition

Conclusion: If we had to give best in evening gown, it would be Olivia Jordan, for a simple reason that she looked barbie doll in that and that gown took her to another level in the competition. For worst, it is definitely Michigan as this is not only the Worst in Top 15 but also in 51 contestants for sure. How could she ignore her stunning Green evening gown and wear this piece of crap?
