TGPC: What motivated you to participate in India’s Miss TGPC?

Samakshi: Every beauty queen that inspired me to enter pageantry started their career at TGPC. Getting shortlisted for this pageant itself is a stepping milestone for me. The growing popularity and opportunities for the winners of this pageant is a testament of its prowess. What more can a new entrant ask for?

TGPC: Why do you believe you are deserving of the India’s Miss TGPC title?

Samakshi: Besides my dream of wearing the prestigious crown, India’s Miss TGPC for me is the launchpad of materializing the bigger picture. This picture is an image of me standing on a national platform, voicing the causes I stand for. This image is of me immersing myself, my time, and my resources to challenge the status quo of the corporate world and steer them towards sustainability. Ensuring human rights and a protected environment is a responsibility of this generation, and I have decided to take it seriously. I envision to utilize my passion for pageantry and this empowering IMT platform to climb-up a ladder where I am capable of fulfilling these responsibilities and inspire others to do the same.

TGPC: Looking towards the future, what are your plans, both with and without the crown?

Samakshi: The plan remains in place, no matter where I am! If I do not win this crown this season, I will try again. But most importantly, my commitment to my cause is unwavered. If not from a national platform, then maybe in my local capacity, but I will deliver what I stand for today.

TGPC: Growing up, what would you say was your biggest challenge?

Samakshi: This question is interesting to me as an optimist, I have always been grateful for every pebble in my path because it has shaped me into who I am today. However, coming from a middle-class family, it has been a challenge to consistently pursue my passion for modeling and dancing alike. It is still difficult for my family to see this field the way I do. I still continue to fight for their faith in me.

TGPC: Beyond winning, what aspect of India’s Miss TGPC are you most excited about?

Samakshi: It has to be the networking opportunity! An environment where I will feel “belonged” is something I have been craving for. Through this journey, I will get to network with many other girls, mentors, and professionals of the industry which is an absolute golden opportunity for a beginner.

TGPC: As an aspiring winner of India’s Miss TGPC, what legacy do you aspire to leave behind?

Samakshi: As a winner, I would like to initiate and lead a project of establishing a charity unit in the name of the organization. It will be a legacy that all future Miss TGPCs can carry forward.

TGPC: Could you share with us the causes or issues that you are particularly passionate about, and how do you intend to utilize this platform to create an impact?

Samakshi: Irresponsible exploitation of mother nature and violation of human rights are the two issues that concern me the most. Winning this pageant will open doors of opportunities for me. The crown-bearer becomes a brand, and it is common knowledge that brands are influential within the society. I will utilize this influence to lead change by advocating sustainability in daily life and empowering the marginalized through social initiatives.

TGPC: Is there any message you’d like to convey to those reading this?

Samakshi: I appeal to all the youngsters, my peers out there. If you are reading this from a privileged position, if you can afford a decent life, be less complaining and more grateful for there is someone struggling to meet ends and they have done nothing wrong to deserve that. There is something wrong with the path our society is headed to; identify it, for you were blessed with the power of education. It is your responsibility to give back to society. Wake up before it’s too late, and we end up becoming a generation that did nothing but endured in silence.
