Simran Godhwani from India crowned as Lady Star Universe 2018

Stunning Simran Godhwani was named as the winner of Lady Star Universe 2018. She represented India at the pageant and battled out 23 other contestants in the pageant to claim the glory on her name. The finale of the pageant was held at Hotel Quinta Dos Tres Pinheiros in Mealhada, Portugal. Apart from the main title, she also won Best Talent and Best Gown subtitles in the event. She was crowned by Anuska Tatiyana, leading model and upcoming actress of Portugal as the winner.

At the same event, Rosa Maria Iglesias Barandela from Spain was declared as the first runner-up while Christina Moutinho from Portugal was declared as the second runner-up. The pageant was held for a period of 7 days where everyday the girls had to compete in various rounds like Talent Round, National Costume Round, Gown Round, Photoshoots etc. The winners received a 1000 Euro monetary prize, various gift hampers and gets to be the brand ambassador for a year. “Graciously Beautiful” is the motto of this pageant as the pageant entrusts the winners to be Gracious, Kind and Pleasant to people from all walks of life, be tolerant and respectful to all cultures across the Globe.

Simran Godhwani is an established and accomplished Kathak Dancer and the Founder & Creative Director of Krshálá Dance Theatre in Bangalore. She is also the co-founder and creative director of Samam – Center for Movement and Dance an NGO focussed on imparting dance education to the under privileged. She also runs an international event company that hosts dance festivals across the globe called Smark International. Simran Godhwani was crowned as Mrs India 2018 – Empress of the Nation, 1st Runners up by Mrs World 2001, Dr Aditi Govitrikar on September 9th, 2018 at a glittering ceremony held at the Hyatt Pune, India. The story of her life has been featured in the book Turning Points of Uncommon People Authored by IIT Chennai & IIMB Alumnus, Anvita Bajpai available on amazon, flipkart and other online stores. Her dance received rave reviews in various newspapers and has also been written about in the New York Times by famous dance critic Alastair Macaulay. She has also appeared in various Television interviews even in the United States. The story of her life has been featured in the book Plunnge, published in 2011 by IIMB Professor Mr. Rakesh. She has received the Nritya Shiromani award at Cuttack Mahotsav in 2015.
