Angela Ponce wins Miss Universe Spain 2018

Angela Ponce was crowned as the winner of Miss Universe Spain 2018. She will now represent her country Spain at Miss Universe 2018 later this year. It is interesting to know that Angela is the first transgender to win Miss Universe Spain and will also be a first ever trans contestant to represent at Miss Universe. The finale of the pageant was held at August Auditorium where Ponce battled out 22 other contestants to claim the title.  She succeeded Sofia Del Prado as the new Miss Universe Spain.

At the same event, Miriam Paredes finished first runner-up while Sheila Monjas was titled as the second runner-up. Racquel Arias, Vanessa Fernandez, and Andrea de las Herras completed the Top 6 court. Angela Ponce previously competed at Miss World Spain 2015 where Mireia Lalaguna was crowned as the eventual winner who later won first Miss World crown for Spain.
