Adriana Paniagua wins Miss Nicaragua 2018

Adriana Paniagua from Chinandega defeated 12 other contestants to bag the title of Miss Nicaragua 2018. The grand finale of the pageant took place on Saturday, March 24th at the Teatro Nacional Rubén Darío in Managua, Nicaragua. Adriana was crowned by the outgoing Miss Nicaragua 2017, Berenice Quezada. Adriana will represent Nicaragua at the Miss Universe 2018 pageant later this year. Ingger Zepeda bagged the first runner-up crown. Ingger will represent Nicaragua at the Miss International 2018 pageant later this year in Tokyo, Japan. The second runner-up crown went to Miss Leon, Alejandra Pereira. Laura Ramirez & Belen Espinales completed the top 5.  The pageant was broadcasted live on VosTV and on Televicentro.Valeria Sánchez hosted the star-studded gala.

Adriana hails from Chinandega and she is not new to the world of pageantry. Adriana took home the Miss Teen Universe 2011 crown. Adriana won Miss Mundo Nicaragua 2013 and was supposed to represent Nicaragua at Miss World 2013 but she backed out due to insufficient training.

Miss Nicaragua is the oldest beauty pageant in Nicaragua. It was established in the year 1955. Nicaragua has never won the Miss Universe crown and has only placed thrice in the history of the pageant.  Beatriz Obregón Lacayo made it to the Top12 of Miss Universe 1977. Xiomara Blandino was top 10 at Miss Universe 2007 and Nastassja Bolívar was top 16 at Miss Universe 2013. Nastassja also won the best national costume award at the pageant.
