Angeline Flor Pua wins Miss Belgium 2018

Angeline Flor Pua defeated 29 other contestants to win the title of Miss Belgium 2018. Grand finale of Miss Belgium 2018 took place on Saturday 13th of January 2018 at the Plopsa Theater,De Panne. Miss Belgium 2018 was the 50th edition of the pageant. Romanie Schotte, Miss Belgium 2017 crowned Angeline as her successor. Angeline will now represent Belgium at Miss World 2018 where she will try to succeed Manushi Chhillar of India as the next Miss World and will also represent her country at Miss Universe 2018 where she will try to succeed Demi Leigh Nel Peters of South Africa as the next Miss Universe. IF for any reason she can’t compete or qualify for either of the pageant her runner-up will represent Belgium in it.

Belgium is yet to win Miss World or Miss Universe title. Highest placement for Belgium at Miss Universe was in 1981 when Dominique van Eeckhoudt managed to bag the fourth runner-up title. Anke Vandermeersch was top 6 at Miss Universe 1992. Belgium last placed at the Miss Universe pageant in the year 2015, Annelies Törös finished in top 15 of the pageant. Christine Delit was fifth runner-up at the Miss World 1962 pageant highest placement for any Miss Belgium at Miss World. Belgium has placed twice in the top 10 of the Miss World pageant courtesy of Ilse De Meulemeester in 1994 and Lenty Frans in 2016.

22-years-old Angeline hails from Borgerhout. Angeline is of Filipino & Chinese descent and is studying to become a pilot. Angel was crowned as Miss Europe Philippine 2016 in Vienna Austria.
