Cailin Aine Ni Toibin crowned as Miss Universe Ireland 2017

Cailin Aine Ni Toibin  from Cork was crowned as the winner of Miss Universe Ireland 2017. The finale of the pageant was held at Dublin’s Mansion House. She is 23 years old and currently works with Brown Thomas as a sales associate. She will now represent Ireland at Miss Universe 2017 later this year.  She was previously a runner-up at Miss Cork pageant in 2015. Cailin Aine Ni Toibin succeeds Joanna Cooper as the new Miss Universe Ireland.

The rest of the top 5 of the event were Kelly Horrigan, Caoimhe O’Dwyer, Aoife McGrane and Andrea Rooney. Ireland missed out a on participation last year and from this year, they have a new franchise holder, Brittany Mason who is ex-Miss Indiana. Ireland started participating in Miss Universe contest since 1961. However, they could have only few placements in the contest. There were a total of 8 placements for Ireland in Miss Universe, out of which 2 are 2nd runner-up placements. Ireland could also won Miss Photogenic Award in 1963 and 1983. The franchise was handed over to the Andrea Roche Model Agency in 2002. Under Roche’s mentorship, only Rozanna Purcell could place in Top 10 of Miss Universe in 2010 edition. People have high hopes from Brittany in coming years.
