Miss Universe 2016: If Only She was There !!
Miss Universe 2016 is over and some really strong contestants failed to make the first cut. However, the good part is that many of the deserving girls did make the cut and most importantly a really fabulous lady won the title of Miss Universe at the conclusion of the event. Like after every pageant, our experts had a debate about who should be “If only she was there” for the pageant – the lady who should have made the first cut at least. While many girls came up in discussion, it was dominated by three ladies in particular. After much deliberation, the experts zeroed in on the name of Miss Nicaragua Marina Jacoby.
It is really surprising that Marina did not make the first cut. This youthful lass did exceptionally well in the pageant. She was one of the standouts in each and every event of the pageant. She did well in the presentation show. Her presentation skills on the stage are impressive and ah, what a face she has! She has the looks of Edymar Martinez, the former Miss International. We saw her in one of the media interviews and she speaks so well! Many portals actually considered her as one of the Top 3 favorites for the pageant. She was at 3rd spot in TGPC’s final hotpicks. It’s difficult to understand why she was left out. Was it her lack of any “story” to share to world, unlike most of the other girls who placed? Or was she left out because she was too strong and could have ended up winning, while the pageant organizers wanted Miss France to win? We will never know the reasons.
Apart from Marina, our experts also considered Miss Venezuela Mariam Habach and Miss Sierra Leone Hawa Kamara. While Mariam Habach was arguably the best performer in the presentation show, Hawa Kamara was one of the popular girls in the pageant. It was her country’s debut at the pageant and she always stood out in every event with her impeccable confidence. It would have been nice if she was appreciated with a placement.
The good part is that Marina is young and she can try in more pageants in the coming years. It would be amazing to see her in Miss World Nicaragua! She can be a strong contender at Miss World pageant, which prefers such youthful, natural beauties. Let’s hope to see her back SOON!
