Heilymar Rosario Velázquez from Puerto Rico wins Miss Intercontinental 2016!!!

Heilymar Rosario Velázquez,Miss Puerto Rico was crowned as Miss Intercontinental 2016!!!

Heilymar Rosario Velázquez from Puerto Rico defeated 59 other contestants to bag the title of Miss Intercontinental 2016. The 45th edition of the pageant took place on 16th of October 2016 at the Stein Studios, Colombo , Sri Lanka. Miss Intercontinental 2015,Valentina Rasulova of Russia crowned Heilymar as her successor. Host girl Miss Sri Lanka,Tracy Ann De Zilva was crowned as first runner-up. There was a tie breaker between Miss Ghana & Miss Italy for the second runner-up crown, judges were asked to stand for the girl they thought was deserving to win the second runner-up crown 6/10 judges stood up for Ghana-Vera Safoah,Miss Italy-Floriana Russo bagged the third runner-up crown.Miss Venezuela,Karina Amal Nemer Erched bagged the fourth runner-up crown. Musicians Apache Indian and Patricio Arellano entertained the audience with their foot tapping Music. Miss Universe Sri Lanka 2011,Stephanie Siriwardhana hosted the show. Heilymar is the third Puerto Rican to win the Miss Intercontinental crown. Puerto Rico has won Miss Intercontinental in the year 1985 and 2010.
