Check what Chum Darang, Miss Earth India 2016 Contestant, has to say about the crowning fiasco

Chum Darang, one of the finalists of Miss Earth India 2016, had been vocal about the ‘unfairness’ in crowning the girl for Miss Earth from India without a proper show on various forums. However, yesterday she gave the complete picture of what actually happened on the finale day on her social account. Her words are as follow:

Check what Chum Darang, Miss Earth India 2016 Contestant, has to say about the crowning fiasco

“Today is 5th of October and the finale of Miss Earth India was on 3rd.
A lot you must be wondering what happened to the results, who the winner is?
Now, I would like to tell you what exactly happened on 3rd October

First of all, there is no winner. Second of all, no competition happened. All of us(contestants) were all arranged for ‘D-Day’, despite being sleep deprived, famished and on top of that, having last moment changes all-the-time. We were to have 3 rounds respectively, of which the last round, gown round’s choreography was not ready, again, another round was called off, and the most dramatic scene was when all the 25 contestants were called on stage, while some were still doing the ethnic round walk(1st round). A man comes up on the stage and starts announcing that they already have a winner and that ‘winner’ has been chosen on the basis of excellence, value, experience and what not!

They announced Rashi as the winner and all of us, the 24 girls stood there, humiliated and startled.

People are now making up stories that we are being mean because we couldn’t make it there. Really?
If you think so, then please know that, THERE WAS NO COMPETITION, NO INTRODUCTION ROUND, NO Q & A.
Some even said that the girls tried to attack her, when the truth is everybody was wailing in the green room, was broken enough even to speak, imagine, when you decide to go after a certain thing, putting so much effort into making ends meet, with all the expectations of family, friends and well wishers, suddenly, things change course, how will you feel?
Broken right?

And about the pre-judging, it began on 1st October, where we all did our best and gave birth to a belief that we could pull it off on the finale.
And also, if they say it was based on the activities they had in the past, they can cross check the attendance or even go through our Pages and our timelines where they will see our work, our everyday activities, we did not leave any stone unturned.

Did we deserve this?
7 months is not a joke, we had to fly to Delhi back and forth every now and then, had to stay in hotels and follow the ‘dress-code’ for every activity they declared, all the expenses on our own.
We were told to bring a whole lot of clothes ranging from gowns to sarees to shorts to dresses to gym wears and again, last moment cancellations, when most of us bought all that was required.
Money is still secondary, affront that our families had to face on the 3rd was something beyond, our parents came from far edges, from North, South, East, West to celebrate this?
I still cannot believe that this is happening, wish it were a dream!

The official page of Miss Earth India is missing from Facebook, the choreography was never completed, I highly doubt that it was all a pre-planned game, where we are now suffering.

Dear well-wishers, do you think we deserve this?
You think it was fair?
Do you think we should accept it and let them go away with it like this?
Do you think they have the authority to play with our dignity?

If you think we are right and deserve more than this humiliation than please share this post and let it reach high and far, until they realise they did the wrong thing.
Thank you!.”

Chum Darang did have a point that they don’t have anything against the winner, the only thing was not digestible to the co-contestants was that the transparency on selecting winner was not justified.
