Candice Abrahams of South Africa is Mrs. World 2016
Candice Abrahams of Johannesburg, South Africa has won the title of Mrs. World 2016 in Dongguan, China. She succeeds Mrs. Belarus Marina Alekseichik as the winner of the title.
Candice Abrahams is the first Mrs. South Africa to win the title. She is the 18th Mrs. World winner. The pageant allows all married women to participate. There is no bar on age. Even grandmothers can participate in the pageant. It has it’s roots in Mrs. America pageant. The first winner was from Srilanka. United States has had the maximum winners – 7. India won the pageant in the year 2001 with Dr. Aditi Gowatriker. Pageant powerhouses Venezuela and Philippines are yet to win the title.
Over the years, the Mrs. World Pageant has been held in many interesting locations around the world including: Queensland in Australia; Jerusalem in Israel; San Jose in America; Costa Rica in Central America; Honolulu, Hawaii (4 years); Las Vegas, Nevada (3 years); in 2005, Amby Valley in India near Bombay; in 2006, in St. Petersburg Russia; in 2007, in Sochi Russia; in 2008 in Kaliningrad Russia; in 2009, the international broadcast of the Mrs. World Pageant originated from the Ba Rua Vung Tau Province in Vietnam; and in December, 2011, the Mrs. World Pageant competition was held in Orlando, Florida.
