Silvia Commodore was crowned as Miss Earth Ghana 2015 at the end of the national contest held on Oct. 3 at the La Palm Hotel in Accra, Ghana. Silvia is a 22-year-old beauty who hails from Accra. She battled out 5 other finalists to claim to the title of Miss Earth Ghana 2015 on her name. She will now represent Ghana in Miss Earth 2015 contest that shall be held in Vienna, Austria later this December. At the end of the pageant, the new Miss Earth, that is Miss Earth 2015, will be crowned as the winner by Miss Earth 2014 Jamie Herrell. 95 countries are expected to participate in the pageant. Silvia Commodore succeeded Nana Ama Odame-Okyere as new Miss Earth Ghana.
At the same event, Maud Fadi was crowned as 1st runner-up, Portia Dsenya was crowned as 2nd runner-up where as Daisy Nkansah was crowned as 3rd runner-up. Ghana debuted to this pageant in 2002 where the country was represented by Beverly Asamoah Jecty. However, Ghana has neither won any Miss Earth crown nor have got any placement in the finale of the Miss Earth.
This year, Silvia Commodore will try getting first ever placement for Ghana. However, the journey to the crown is not that easy, she will have to face a very tough competition to the pageant for sure. Estefania Muñoz, who was chosen as Miss Earth Colombia 2015, with her stunning looks, she is definitely one of the big favorites at the moment. Miss Earth Philippines Angelia Ong is also a very strong delegate. With a lean body and lots of charm, this girl can get a back-to-back for Philippines at Miss Earth this year. Miss South Sudan Agot Deng Jogaak is one of the strong black delegates this year. The big favourite for Miss Universe Thailand 2015 who finished as 1st runner-up, Chavika Watrsang will be Thailand’s bet at Miss Earth. It just seems improbable to keep her out of Top 8! United States is eyeing their first Miss Earth title this year with a very strong delegate by the name Brittany Ann Payne.
