Miss Universe Greece 2015: Mikaela Fotiadis

Mikaela Fotiadis

Mikaela Fotiadis has won the title of Miss Universe Greece 2015 / Star Hellas 2015.  She was chosen as the winner in a casting call that took place on 30th October, 2015.  She will be participating in Miss Universe 2015 that will take place in Planet Hollywood at Las Vegas, Nevada in the United States of America.  This will be the first year of Miss Universe under the aegis of WME/IMG and hence there is a lot of excitement about the finals.  The new Miss Universe, i.e. Miss Universe 2015, will be crowned by Miss Universe 2014 Paulina Vega Dieppa of Colombia.  In addition to numerous prizes, she will win life-time of international recognition and stardom.  Her name will be carved in the history.  Will Mikaela Fotiadis be the lucky one?

Mikaela Fotiadis comes from the island of Crete.  She is half dutch.  She is a pageant veteran.  She has competed in Miss Young International, Miss Tourism and the Next Top Model Contest.  She will be eyeing to be the second Miss Universe from Greece.  The first Miss Universe from Greece was Kyriaki “Corinna” Tsopei who won Miss Universe 1964.  In the early years, Greece enjoyed many placements in Miss Universe.  In 2000s, Miss Greece Evelina Papantoniou finished first runner-up to Miss Puerto Rico Denise Quinones in Miss Universe 2001 that was held in Puerto Rico.  Many believe that Evenlina had this in her bag and she would have won if the pageant was not held in Puerto Rico.  She looked downright stunning in swimsuit and evening gown competitions.  The last placement of Greece in Miss Universe was achieved by Evagelia Aravani in Miss Universe 2005 that was held in Thailand and was won by Miss Canada Natalie Glebova.
