Urvashi Rautela wins Miss Diva 2015

After almost a month of crucial training, Miss Diva 2015 concluded tonight by crowning a major crowd favourite Urvashi Rautela as the new winner. She will now represent India in Miss Universe 2015 contest that will be held in Vegas on 19th December 2015. Urvashi battled out 15 other contestants of Miss Diva 2015 to claim the title. It is interesting to note that Urvashi Rautela has won the right to represent India at Miss Universe twice. First being the winner of I AM SHE 2012, where later she was dethroned due to her shortfall of age by mere 23 days. However, she came back again to the contest this year as a wildcard entry and took it all by storm.

At the same event, Natasha Assadi was crowned as 1st runner-up and Naveli Deshmukh was crowned as 2nd runner-up. As of now it is not clear whether the runner-up shall go to any pageant or not. Natasha also won Miss Personality title and Naveli was a Top 10 at Femina Miss India 2015 contest. All the top 3 were also a part of our Best in Swimsuit review.

Urvashi Rautela is already a famous model and actress in India. She has done movies like Singh Saheb The Great, Great Grand Masti and 2 more movies in line. She was also the winner of Miss Tourism International Queen 2012. Urvashi is already touted as one of the major hot favourites for the crown of Miss Universe 2015 now. In fact, she has mentioned in various interviews that she always wanted to win Miss Universe since her childhood. Her mother is her biggest inspiration for this.

India debuted at Miss Universe in the year 1952 when Indrani Rehman from Tamil Nadu represented India. Yasmin Daji Miss India Universe 1966 was the First Indian to place at Miss Universe Pageant. She was crowned as Fourth Runner Up at Miss Universe 1966. India has produced two Miss Universe Winners Sushmita Sen, Miss Universe 1994 and Lara Dutta Miss Universe 2000. India is one of the few countries that has a placement streak of more than a decade. Manpreet Brar Miss India Universe 1995 came close to winning the Miss Universe 1995 crown but she had to settle for the First runner-up crown. Urvashi Rautela will receive a Yamaha Fascino Scooter, Rs. 5 lac cash and the crown as a part of her prizes.This year, she will try to grab 3rd Miss Universe crown for India.
