Mateja Kociper is Miss Slovenia 2015 [Photos]

Mateja Kociper has been crowned as Miss Slovenia 2015 / Miss World Slovenia 2015.  She will compete at the highly coveted Miss World 2015 pageant in Sanya, China in December 2015.  The Miss Slovenia pageant was established in 1990 and its head-quarters are in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Mateja Kociper will be facing stiff competition at Miss World 2015.  The biggest front-runner at this point is Miss Brazil Catherine Choi.  Miss France Hinarere Taputu and Miss England Natasha Hemmings are perhaps the strongest contenders from Europe.  Miss United States Victoria Mendoza, Miss India Aditi Arya, Miss Australia Tess Alexander, Miss Trinidad and Tobago Kimberley Singh, Miss South Africa Liesl Laurie, Miss Mexico Yamelin Ramirez, Miss Lesotho Relebohile Kobeli and Miss Guyana Lisa Punch are some of the other strong contenders.

Mateja Kociper has studied telecommunications.  She follows the legacy of some really pretty ladies from Slovenia.  Vesna Music of Velenje was the first Miss Slovenia.  She did not compete in Miss World.  Natasa Abram of Koper was the first Miss Slovenia in Miss World.  The year was 1992.  She did not place and the pageant was won by Miss Russia Julia Kourotchkina.  The first Miss Slovenia to achieve some success in Miss World was Miss Slovenia 2005 Sanja Grohar of Kranj.  She was Top 19 in Beach Beauty and Top 16 in Best Talent.  She was 2nd runner-up in best singing act performance category.  She was 2nd runner-up in Miss Sports with Southern Europe group.  Overall she could not place that year and the winner was Miss Iceland Unnur Birna Vilhjalmsdottir.  Miss Slovenia 2006 Iris Mulej of Ilirska Bistrica was Top 25 in Beach Beauty.  Overall she could not place and the winner was Miss Czech Republic Taťána Kuchařová.  Miss Slovenia 2012 Nives Orešnik of Maribor was Top 24 in Miss Sports, though she did not place overall.  The winner was Yu Wenxia of China.  Miss Slovenia 2014 Julija Bizjak of Lesce could not place in Top 25.  The winner was Miss South Africa Rolene Strauss.  Let us see if Mateja Kociper can bring the first placement to Slovenia in Miss World this year!
