London can be considered the birthplace of pageantry, because the world’s oldest surviving pageant, i.e Miss World, was created by Mr. Eric Morley in 1951 in this city. The city will host the Miss World 2014 finale in coming December.
Europe is known for its blue-eyed beauties. Despite sending stunners, the European delegation is being ignored by many pageants across the globe. Many believe it is due to lack of preparation. Some blame it on lack of personality. Others blame their wardrobes.
Europe has a strong delegation at Miss World 2014. Currently France leads the European contingent closely followed by Hungary & the host girl who is ready to throw a major set back towards the front runners.
Miss World is a tricky pageant to crack. There are various challenger events which determine the semi finalists, adding to the havoc are regional cut-offs that makes it hard to crack the pageant. Kaiane Aldorino of Gibraltar being the last one to win in 2009.
