Stunning Miss Earth 2010 and Miss India 2010 1st runners-up Nicole Faria thinks that the reason for non-performance of India into international pageantry like Miss universe and Miss World is that the real deserving delegates loses out to some mediocre contestants just because she is being favored by organisers. Nicole recently starred in a youth related movies ‘Yariyaan’.
Nicole competed at Miss India South in 2010 and won there and got a direct entry to Miss India 2010. She was touted as winner by fans across the globe and was supposed to win Miss India as per predictions by various beauty blog, however she lost to Manasvi Mamgai and settled down as 1st runners-up. Manasvi later on went unplaced at Miss World 2010 pageant where as Nicole managed to win India’s first Miss Earth crown. Rumours keep coming that the winner won because of rigged pageant like when Urvashi Rautela won Miss Universe India in 2012, people claimed that she was rigged as winner from the beginning. Similar news surfaced up when Navneet Kaur Dhillon won Miss India 2013. However, there had been no solid proofs.
Miss Pennsylvania 2012 claimed that Miss USA 2012 results were rigged and she saw the top 5 name on papers before the finale only. This made a huge international controversy. She got dethroned for doing these allegations and Miss Universe Owner Donald Trump even filed case against her asking for $5 Million for damaging the brand. Pageant rigging accusations now a day have become very common and we hope pageants now becomes more transparent just like in past years where each judges scores were revealed. This can bring back the essence of fair and transparent operations.
