Meet Uditi Malik: India’s Miss TGPC S-14 [Top 5 Winner]

She is someone who is constantly becoming — never confined by who she was yesterday, and always drawn to who she can be tomorrow. A student of Accounting and Finance at the University of Birmingham Dubai, she carries both discipline and curiosity in everything she does, believing that growth is not a destination but a continuous journey. A dancer by passion and a learner at heart, she finds expression in movement and meaning in silence. She has challenged the limits she once placed on herself, slowly learning to speak up, show up, and stand firm in her identity. And above everything she does, she carries one belief: that life is meant to be lived fully, with purpose, courage, and the willingness to keep becoming.

What has been the most emotionally challenging part of this journey?

The most emotionally challenging part for me was letting go of self-doubt and learning to immerse myself completely in the process — to truly give my 100%. At the start of this journey, seeing the 70 shortlisted candidates felt overwhelming and there were moments where I questioned my own ability. As the subsequent subtitle rounds began and I wasn’t selected, it became even harder to process, not knowing what I was doing wrong and trying to navigate that uncertainty. But over time, I realised that growth doesn’t come from overthinking outcomes but from fully showing up despite fear. I’ve learned to believe in my dreams more selflessly, to stand up for my voice, and to trust myself even when it shakes. Today, I no longer see those moments as setbacks. I see them as the reason I’ve become more self-aware, more resilient, and more intentional about who I am becoming.

Which compliment during the competition stayed with you the most?

The compliment that has stayed with me the most came after the Top 5 were selected during a feedback call with Dipak Sir. He told me that I had listened to the advice he gave me at the beginning of the contest and that I had applied it skilfully to reach this stage. I remember feeling genuinely happy and emotional in that moment because it was not just praise — it felt like recognition of effort and growth. It showed me that I had been truly present in the process, actively listening, taking constructive criticism on board, and consciously working on myself instead of resisting feedback. For me, that meant more than any result because it reflected the kind of contestant I have tried to be throughout this journey — someone who does not just hear advice but applies it with intention, humility, and consistency.

“White is not about standing out — it is about standing true.”

If your confidence had a colour, what would it be?

If my confidence had a colour, it would be white. Because white is not about standing out — it is about standing true. It does not compete for attention; it simply exists in its most honest form. For me, confidence is not loud or forced. It is the quiet certainty of knowing who I am even while I am still growing, still learning, and still becoming. It is choosing authenticity over approval and presence over perfection. White feels like a fresh start every time — untainted by doubt, free from comparison, and open to endless possibility. And that is the kind of confidence I continue to grow into: calm, grounded, and completely my own.

What’s your pre-stage ritual before appearing on camera?

My pre-stage ritual is all about becoming calm, clear, and fully present in the moment. I usually begin by taking a few quiet breaths and meditating for a few minutes — it helps me slow down, ground my thoughts, and step away from any pressure around me. Then I use ice on my face, which instantly refreshes me and helps me feel more awake, composed, and confident. It feels like a reset button before I step in front of the camera. After that, I do my skincare routine, which is a small but meaningful way for me to take care of myself and feel put together. By the time I step on stage, I feel light, focused, and fully in control of my energy.

What makes you different from every other contestant this season?

What makes me different from every other contestant this season is not that I believe I have worked harder or put in more effort — because I truly feel every girl who has reached the Top 5 is incredibly deserving and has given her time, energy, and heart to this journey. What makes me different is my relationship with myself in this moment. I am not standing here as a finished version or someone trying to be perfect. I am standing here as someone who is fully present and fully aligned with who I am today. Right now, I feel like I am the best version of myself that I have ever been — not because I am better than anyone else, but because I am giving this moment one hundred per cent of my potential without holding anything back. And more than anything, I carry a deep willingness to grow, to experience, and to express myself fully. I am not here to compare — I am here to evolve. And that, to me, is what makes my journey uniquely my own.

What would you tell your younger self watching you today?

What I would tell my younger self is: right now, the doubt, the uncertainty, those moments where you feel like you are not enough — they will not define you. You are what you choose to believe yourself to be, so even in your weakest moments, choose to believe in your strength. Trust the process, even when it feels unclear, even when it feels like nothing is going right — because the universe truly loves a stubborn heart, one that refuses to give up on its own dreams. Walk towards them with courage, even if your steps are small, because every small step towards your dream will eventually culminate into this very moment, the one you once only imagined. And when you get here, you will realise it was never about being perfect. It was always about not giving up on yourself.

Define your Season 14 journey in one dramatic sentence.

“If there is no struggle, there is no progress.” — Frederick Douglass. For me, this quote truly defines my Season 14 journey. What people often see is the final result, but not the process behind it. In my case, there were very real challenges — struggling to find photographers, not always having access to studios or professional setups. But instead of letting that stop me, I learned to adapt. My mom became my biggest support system, helping me film most of my work, whether it was my Miss Personality answers, my Miss Supermodel shoot, my Miss Beautiful Skin, or even my Top 12 interview look. We didn’t have perfect setups, so I created solutions — like using a pen holder as a DIY stand — just to make sure I could keep going. Those moments mean the most to me. Because they taught me that progress is not about perfect conditions — it is about persistence. It is about showing up with whatever you have and still choosing to give your best.
