Francesca Mifsud representing the city of Zejtun defeated 24 other contestants to win the title of Miss Universe Malta 2018. The grand finale of Miss Universe Malta 2018 took place on Friday, 13th of July 2018 at Hilton Malta. Tiffany Pisani, Miss Universe Malta 2017 crowned Francesca as her successor. Apart from winning the main crown Francesa also won best physique sub-contest. Francesca will now represent Malta at the Miss Universe 2018 pageant where she will try to succeed South Africa’s Demi Leigh Nel Peters as the next Miss Universe. Miss Qawra, Lyann Iles was crowned as the first runner-up whereas the second runner-up crown went to Miss Mellieha, Marilena Gauci. Malta debuted at the Miss Universe 2016 pageant and is yet to place in it.

22-year-old Francesca hails from  Zejtun. Francesca is currently studying law at the University of Malta and wants to become a lawyer. Francesca is not new to the pageant world she first competed at the Miss Universe malta pageant in 2016 where she placed fourth. Francesca won Best Model of the World Malta 2016, Francesca represented Malta at the Miss Intercontinental 2017  in Egypt. Fun Fact Francesca’s aunt was crowned as Miss Malta 2002 since then she was fascinated with pageantry. Francesca has been playing basketball since the age of 12 and has competed in various national competitions.
