Miss Earth 2016, Katherine Espín from Ecuador crowns Karen Ibasco of the Philippines as Miss Earth 2017
Meet the stunning Miss Earth 2018 Contestants. The 18th edition of the Miss Earth pageant will take place in the last quarter of the year. (Venue and Dates to be announced). Karen Ibasco, MIss Earth 2017 from the Philippines will crown her successor at the end of the pageant. 90 plus countries are expected to join this year’s pageant. Winner of this pageant travels around the world promoting global warming and other environmental issues.
Miss Earth Organization is based in the Philippines and is run by Carousel Productions. The Philippines has produced a whopping 4 crowns and numerous runner-ups titles making it the most successful country at the pageant. Brazil, Venezuela, and Ecuador have produced 2 Miss Earth winners respectively. Denmark, Canada, Chile, The Czech Republic, Honduras, India, and Kenya are the other countries to have won the pageant once. Denmark’s Catharina Svensson was the first recipient of Miss Earth title in 2001. In 2002, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Džejla Glavović was dethroned and Kenya’s Winfred Omwakwe was appointed as the new Miss Earth.
