Stunning Yuumi Kato was crowned as the winner of Miss Universe Japan 2018. The finale of the event was held at the Hotel Chinzanso in Tokyo. She represented the province of Mie at the pageant. She succeeds Momoko Abe as the new Miss Universe Japan. She will now represent Japan at Miss Universe 2018 later this year.

At the same event, the representatives of Hokkaido and Niigata were declared as the first runner-up and second runner-up. Yuumi Kato has previously featured in a famous TV Series in Malaysia-‘J. K. K. Season 2’. She can speak 4 languages, namely– Japanese, English, Malay and Chinese. Japan placed in the finale last in 2015 and won the crown in 2007 by the courtesy of Riyo Mori.
