Sarah Peyrel has been crowned as Miss Earth Switzerland 2017.  She succeeds Manuela Oppikofer as Miss Earth Switzerland (Miss Earth Schweiz) and will represent Switzerland at Miss Earth 2017.  Sarah is 21 years of age and hails from Bienne, Bern, Switzerland.  She is a student.

Sarah Peyrel is the 16th winner of Miss Earth Switzerland title.  The pageant started in the year 2002 with the crowning of first winner, Jade Chang.  Over the years, Switzerland has placed twice in Miss Earth.  The first placement was achieved by Stephanie Gossweiler in Miss Earth 2007.  She was Top 8 finalist.  The next placement was achieved by Nasanin Nuri in the very next year, Miss Earth 2008.  Like Stephanie, Nasanin was also a Top 8 finalist.  However, in the past few years, no placement is achieved.  As such, Switzerland has not won any major international title till now – neither Miss World, Miss Universe or Miss International.
