Jihan Dimachk from Dodoma has been chosen as Miss Universe Tanzania 2016-2017.  She will represent Tanzania at Miss Universe 2016, which will be held at the Philippines in January 2017.  She succeeds Lorraine Marriot as Miss Universe Tanzania title-holder.

Miss Universe Tanzania pageant was instated in the year 2007.  The pageant made an amazing debut with the fabulous Flaviana Matata, Miss Universe Tanzania 2007.  This stunner from Dar Es Salaam made it to the Top 10 in the finals and won hearts of millions throughout the world for her unique beauty.  In fact, a popular website even went ahead to name her as the sexiest woman of the year 2007.  Later she became a popular international model.  After Flaviana, no Miss Universe Tanzania winner achieved success at Miss Universe.  Will Jihan Dimachk achieve a placement at Miss Universe 2016-2017?  Time will show.
