Sophiya Singh, who was crowned “Miss Eco India” at Rubaru Miss India Elite 2015, on 8 October 2015 in New Delhi, is India’s representative for the second edition of Miss Eco Universe pageant in Egypt. She is the first ever Indian to represent India at the pageant.
Sophiya Singh hails from Noida. She did her schooling from DAV Public School and for her higher education she opted for Birla Institute of Technology. She started her career with modelling and later made her screen debut with MTV Splitsvilla 8 TV Series aired on MTV. In 2015, she became one of the finalists at Campus Princess 2015 Season 1, the preliminary pageant for Femina Miss India 2015. Later in 2015, she participated in Rubaru Miss India Elite 2015 pageant held in New Delhi and was crowned the first ever “Miss Eco India” at the grand finale held on 8 October 2015.
Miss Eco Universe pageant is supported by the government of Egypt and aims to promote Eco – Tourism and work for various environmental causes. The pageant was first held in 2015 in Egypt. Patricia Peklar of Slovenia was crowned the very first Miss Eco Universe at the grand finale held on 5 April 2015 at Alzahra Hall of Hilton Green Plaza in Alexandria, Egypt. As her reign is coming to an end she will pass on her crown to the new “Miss Eco Universe” at the grand finale of the Miss Eco Universe 2016 pageant to be held in Cairo in April.
