Nunchnarin Sinlaparak: Miss Tourism World 2015

Nunchnarin Sinlaparak of Thailand is chosen as Miss Tourism World 2015. The finale of the pageant was held in Malaysia on 16th January 2015. In total 50 girls from different countries participated. Nunchnarin Sinlaparak was crowned by Tomomi Kondou of Japan, the former winner. Johanna Yoselin Norona Onofre from Ecuador finished second although she was considered as the main favorite by many pageant gurus. The second runner up was Karen Aliberti of Venezuela. Sara Stojanovic of Serbia and Shelby Tribble from Great Britain finished fourth and fifth respectively. Australia bagged Continental queen of Oceania title. Spain bagged the continental queen of Europe title. Kenya bagged the continental queen of Africa title. Honduras bagged the continental queen of Americas title. Thailand won the continental queen of Asia title.

Winning was not a cakewalk for Nunchnarin Sinlaparak. All the 50 girls competed in swimsuit and evening gown rounds. Then the Top 15 were chosen. The winners were chosen based on questions and answers round. The pageant was in total of 3 hours and witnessed big presence of audiences in the event.

Nunchnarin Sinlaparak has added one more feather in the cap of successes for South East Asian countries. Recently Miss Thailand Universe Aniporn was a Top 10 finalist at Miss Universe and won the Best in national costume award. Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach won the Miss Universe title. Miss Indonesia also placed in the Top 15 of Miss Universe 2015.  Miss Indonesia Maria Harfanti was 2nd runner-up at Miss World. Philippines & Vietnam made it to the Top 11 of Miss World 2015.  Miss Philippines Angelia Ong was the winner of Miss Earth title last year. Miss Globe winner last year was also from Philippines. Thailand and Philippines were runner ups at Miss Grand International last year. Miss Intercontinental 2014 was from Thailand. Thus, slowly and steadily, the South East Asian countries are emerging as a powerful group in the world of international pageantry.
