Pierina Wong Mori crowned Miss World Peru 2016!!!!

Pierina Wong Mori representing the province of Lambayeque won the crown of Miss World Peru 2016. The finale took place at  the Main Square of Trujillo.Pierina will represent her country at Miss World 2016 next year, She was crowned by Miss World Peru 1981 Olga Zumarán. Pierina succeeds Miss World Peru 2015-Karla Chocano.Silvana Vásquez of Loreto bagged the first runner-up crown where as Miss Amazonas-  Tatiana Castro was crowned as the second runner-up.Miss ICA-Ivanka Monroy García & Miss La Libertad – Ana Lucía Leiva Pereira bagged third and fourth runner-up crown respectively. 16 contestants from across Peru competed in various challenger events.The grand finale of Miss World Peru was aired live on Willax TV.

Peru has two Miss World crowns courtesy of Madeline Hartog-Bel who won the 1967 edition of Miss World & María Julia Mantilla Miss World 2004.María Elena Rossel Zapata was first runner-up at Miss World 1959 and in 2002 Marina Mora bagged the second runner-up crown for Peru,apart from this Peeru has only placed thrice at Miss World Pageant.

23 year old Pierina is a student of Business Management. Pierina is of Chinese descent and has won Miss Tusan 2013 crown a pageant exclusively created for girls of Chinese -Peruvian descent. She likes to listen to music in her free time and also enjoys athletics
