20 years old Regina Valter won Miss Almaty 2015, a regional finale for Miss Kazakhstan 2015. Regina defeated 13 other contestants to win Miss Almaty 2015. She will represent Almaty at Miss Kazakhstan 2015, where the winner will go to Miss World 2016. By winning Miss Almaty 2015, Regina will now represent her country at the Miss Universe 2015 Pageant, to be held in December 2015 or January 2016. Regina is a student of Engineering at the Tyumen University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, which is in Russia. The rules for selection of Miss Kazaksthan Universe were changed in the month of June. The organizer said that usually Miss Almaty goes on to win Miss Kazakhstan. Hence they will send the winner to the Top beauty Pageant. The Miss Almaty 2015 pageant was hosted by the reigning Miss Kazakhstan 2014 Regina Vandysheva, who will represent her country at Miss World 2015 in Sanya, China later this year. The first runner-up crown went to Asel Makasheva, while Tamilla Sarsenovawas crowned as second runner-up.
Regina Valter represents a country relatively new in Miss Universe. Kazakhstan started sending delegates to Miss Universe since 2005. They haven’t placed in Miss Universe so far. Margarita Kravtsova is the most successful beauty queen from Kazakhstan; she was third runner-up at Miss World 2000. She also won Miss Earth Water in 2001. Miss Kazakhstan is conducted with the help of Ministry of Culture. Aiday Isaeva represented Kazakhstan at the Miss Universe 2014 edition, where she failed to crack the Top 15. Miss Universe 2014 Paulina Vega from Colombia visited Kazakhstan earlier this year for a charity gala.
Regina Valter has a tough road ahead, because Miss Universe 2015 is turning out to be one really strong batch. At the moment, Miss USA Olivia Jordan, Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez, Miss Venezuela Mariana Jiménez and Miss Thailand Aniporn Chalermburanawong among others.
