Miss United States 2015

Miss United States 2015 is Summer Priester

Summer Priester of South Carolina won the Miss United States 2015 title on 5th July 2015.  Haley Holloway of West Virginia finished second.  Iman Oubou of New York finished third.  Sara Blanche Comiskey of Louisiana finished fourth.  Katie Himes of Kentucky finished fifth.  This is the first time South Carolina won this pageant.  It must noted that she finished 4th in Miss South Carolina USA 2015 pageant.

Andreia Gibau of New York won the Miss Teen United States title while Tennessee’s Gracie Gipson won Miss Junior Teen United States title.

Summer was crowned by Elizabeth Safrit of North Carolina, who finished third in Miss World 2014.  Elizabeth was the continental queen from Americas, Top 5 in Talent, Miss Multimedia title winner and Top 19 in interview scores.  She was appointed as the US delegate at Miss World after the director of the Miss United States pageant, Christopher Wilmer won the US franchise for Miss World last year.  However, this year MWO wanted a national pageant to choose the US representative at Miss World 2015.  Hence the first edition of Miss World America 2015 happened in which Arizona’s Victoria Mendoza won the rights to represent the US at Miss World 2015 in Sanya later this year.

Miss United States pageant has old history.  The first pageant was held in 1925.  Interestingly, the pageant allows unmarried women in age group 20-29 for the pageant.  The organization has selected Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society as ttheir non-profit partner.
